STUDENT HEALTH AND WELLNESS

A successful school health program focuses on school and community needs by promoting and protecting the optimal health of students and staff members. Prevention of illness and disability, and the early detection and correction of health problems is a focus of:
  • Health screenings;
  • First Aid;
  • Managing the illnesses of students and school staff;
  • Administering medication during the school hours;
  • Providing necessary care for students with special health needs;
  • Controlling communicable disease;
  • Evaluating severe trauma and medical emergencies;
  • Assisting in crisis and high-risk situations such as child abuse, suicide threat or attempts;
  • Substance abuse;
  • Providing care in emergency situations relating to safety and security.
