Community Engagement & Support Initiatives
Parents: No Jeans every Friday. On the last Friday of each month students can pay $1 and wear jeans with a FFA shirt. This is the only Friday that students may wear jeans and/or spirit shirts; the other Fridays are not jean days.

I am originally from Louisiana. I received both my Bachelors and Masters in Education from the University of Louisiana. I am a proud parent of 2 beautiful daughters and a wife to an extraordinary guy for 10 ½ years. I have been an educator for 14 years. This year marks my 11th year with Faith Family Academy Charters and I love every minute of it! As Executive Director of Special Programs, my purpose is to empower and educate the whole child for life-long success. At Faith Family Academy Charters we are the ones who give 100% everyday!

Shirley M. Heitzman, M. Ed. currently serves Faith Family Academy as the Director of Support Initiatives and Community Engagement. Ms. Heitzman works closely with Guillermo Miranda, Bilingual Coordinator of Student Support Initiatives, and Whitney McAnallen, Marketing Coordinator, to support and expand parent and community engagement programming, marketing and communications efforts, and community partnerships and resource development at Faith Family Academy. She also works with the district leadership team on Response to Intervention (RTI) and Gifted and Talented programming. Ms. Heitzman joins Faith Family Academy with over 15 years of experience in PreK-12 public school teaching, administration, parent and community engagement, and external resource development. Ms. Heitzman’s passion is to work with PreK-12 teachers, principals, and district leaders to create partnerships with corporate, philanthropic and government partners that increase financial and volunteer support for our most important educational initiatives. Ms. Heitzman received her Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from the University of Minnesota and her Master of Arts in Educational Administration from the University of Texas at Austin. Hook’em Horns!!! She also loves Irish music and dance, hiking, and reading.
